Blackout & Dim-Out Curtains and Blinds

A softer morning. A quieter evening. A better night’s sleep.

The right window treatment can make a room feel calm, cocooning and protected, especially when light control is key.

Whether you're looking for complete darkness, softened morning light, or simply a way to block glare from streetlamps or passing headlights, we offer a range of blackout and dim-out options tailored to your space.

What do you really need?

True blackout is possible, but it’s not always necessary. We begin by asking the right questions:

  • Is this for a child’s room, a TV snug, or a bedroom with an east-facing window?
  • Do you want a dim, peaceful space or total darkness at any hour?
  • Would you like the solution to be invisible by day, or part of the room’s design?

With the curtain on the right, total blackout is achieved using a channel blackout blind system. You can't even see they are there during the day.

Different ways to darken a room

We can tailor light control through:

  • Thick interlined curtains in heavy fabrics
  • Cotton linings that block a surprising amount of light without feeling bulky for a dimout look
  • Blackout Roman blinds, made to measure
  • Layered sheers and curtains, to allow flexibility throughout the day
  • Specialist tracks or recessed poles that reduce light seepage
  • Ceiling-fixed curtain systems for full coverage
  • Channel-fit blackout blinds, often paired with curtains

You don’t need to know what you need, that’s our job. But you may find that what works best isn’t always the most extreme option.

More than just sleep

Light control affects more than your bedroom. We’ve helped clients:

  • Stop sunslight bleach the sofa
  • Soften glare in home offices
  • Darken music rooms and snugs
  • Make guest bedrooms feel restful and refined

Whatever the purpose, we’ll help you choose the right materials, linings, and hardware to suit both the function and feeling of the space.
