Introduction

At Curtains by Max Buston, we believe that window dressings should do more than frame a view. They should shift the mood of a room, soften conversation, and create spaces you want to live in. Our curtains and blinds are designed to feel considered, characterful, and completely personal. The kind you’d expect to see in the pages of House & Garden.

Our Showrooms

Handmade in our Richmond workshop and shown in both our Richmond Hill and new Dartmouth showrooms.
We work closely with each client to understand their space, their architecture, and how they want to live. Whether that means blackout-lined bedroom curtains for better sleep, joyful fabrics to lift a sitting room, or elegant dress curtains layered with sheers for privacy and softness.

Our Fabrics

Our signature collection spans painterly botanicals, embroidered linens, chic chinoiseries, bold geometrics and tactile plains. We also work with over fifty trusted fabric houses, and we love when clients bring their own inspiration from magazines, Pinterest or Instagram.
Every window treatment is measured, made, and finished by hand. Because the smallest details, the heading style, the weight of a pole, the way light filters through a sheer, make all the difference.

Made by Hand in Richmond

Every curtain and blind begins with a conversation, about how you live and what you love. From there, we measure, design, and make each piece by hand in our Richmond workshop.

It’s bespoke, with every detail carefully considered:

  1. The weight and fall of your chosen fabric.
  2. The proportions of each pleat
  3. The exact length the curtain breaks on the floor
  4. The curve of the pole or track and how it feels when drawn

We don't believe in standard lengths or shortcuts. Just thoughtful making, beautifully done.
